IC443
Jellyfish Nebula
The
IC443 Jellyfish Nebula is a supernova remnant located about 5,000
light-years from Earth. Scientists believe it was formed by a star
exploding into a supernova at least 30,000 years ago. Light is
emitted from it due to reactions with surrouding molecular clouds. North is
at the bottom.
