IC4604, IC4603
and IC4605, the "Rho Bros"
IC4604,
IC4603 and IC4605 are reflection nebula that are part of the Rho
Ophiuchi cloud complex that stretches over 5 degrees. IC4604
is
the larger blue area at the top-left, IC4603 is the smaller blue nebula
just to its right, and IC4605 is at the bottom-right. The
large
dark cloud is part of Barnard 44 which extends well beyond the
image. This complex is one of the closest star-forming clouds
to
Earth, at "only" 460 light-years away. North is at the left.
